Millit is a Windows application, able to
run under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000.
The user interface is layed out after the MDI (Multiple Document Interface) model and conforms to the current style guides. Through its
logically laid out user interface, the use of tool bars with tool tips for all important functions and almost no modal dialog boxes, the program is easy to use.
The program supports multi-processor systems (MPS)
under Windows NT and Windows 2000, and the 3D viewer uses OpenGL for the display so that various OpenGL accelerator cards can be used. This guarantees a high scalability concerning the hardware used, as the
application's hardware requirements are comparably high: Pentium II, 256 MB RAM, 10 GB hard disk and 3D graphics card should be available.
Installable post processors are used for generating the NC programs.
These program parts be acquired and installed separately. For a particular milling machine (depending on the manufacturer and the type of controller used for the machine) a specific post processor is necessary.
The first post processor is included at delivery. Other post processors must be acquired separately.
